Francesca Browne

Francesca (Frankie) Browne is a theatre practitioner from Tamaki Makaurau. She trained with Massive Theatre Company as a member of the Nui Ensemble for four years before studying at Ecole Phillipe Gauiler in France. She has performed in multiple national touring shows including Duffy Books In Homes and the Ugly Shakespeare Company. This year, she returns to write and direct her second touring show for the Ugly Shakespeare Company, Hamlet. Through her improv company “Improverished”, Frankie has directed several of their long-form improv shows including the acclaimed, “Can I have an Underground Location and a Mythical Creature?” which has sold out multiple runs since the show's conception in 2017.

Frankie began tutoring in 2017 after completing her first national tour, she taught Improv at the National Youth Drama school. She enjoyed working with young people so much that she began tutoring for Tim Bray Theatre Company, Theatre Sports Youth Programme and running her own clown workshops. She is excited to join the Kea Performing Arts team.
